I love sleep. Dreams can be vivid and exciting. I also hate feeling tired or sleepy (and there is a difference.) Because I love getting sleep, I get excited every fall for that extra hour that comes from day light savings (and dread the spring time when I lose an hour.) This year, however, I cheated myself out of that hour.
I stayed up a little later than usual Saturday night, knowing that day light savings would kick in and give me the sleep I wanted/needed. Unfortunately, I was very tired when I got home Saturday night, and forgot to change the clocks. I woke up at 8 a.m. the next morning in a little bit of a panic because I had church meetings at 8:30 a.m. I was very tired from having stayed up late the night before, but I got up anyway. I quickly got ready, and as I was heading out the door, I did a time check on my cell phone to see how I was doing. My cell phone flashed its innocent 7:20 a.m. at me. I was so mad at myself! I was up and ready for my meetings. There was no way I was falling back asleep. My meetings were not for almost an hour. All I could do was sit around being tired but not sleepy until it was time to leave. Needless to say, I am now unjustly bitter toward day light savings time.
